Hope Stout died on 4th January 2004. She died of cancer at the age of twelve. But Hope lived up to her name and inspired many people with her desire for others to hope for things not expected in life.
Hope had the opportunity to "make a wish" from the Make a Wish Foundation. When asked to "make a wish", she responded that her wish was for all the children on the Carolina Make a Wish Foundation list be given their wish and for this to be granted by 16th January 2004. A mere 30 days away.
The task of raising $1, 000, 000 in such a short period seemed insurmountable except for the ambition and desire of Hope and the inspiration she brought to a community. Click on Hope's image at left to read more of her story and watch the YouTube video below.
